Frequently asked questions
How do I restore my purchases?
Open the Pro screen in Textbait and tap Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple ID you bought with. If Pro does not come back, check you are signed in to that Apple ID in iOS Settings, then email us.
How does the watermark work?
Every export from the free version carries a small “made with Textbait” mark. Pro removes it. There is no daily free allowance without the mark.
What are the Pro plans?
Pro removes the watermark and lets you keep more than 3 saved chats (free keeps your last 3). You can choose:
- Weekly: auto-renewing subscription, billed every week.
- Yearly: auto-renewing subscription, billed every year.
- Lifetime: a single payment, no renewal.
Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open iOS Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Textbait, and choose Cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Where are my chats stored? I deleted the app and they are gone.
Chats are stored only on this device. We have no account system and no server copy, so deleting the app deletes them, and we cannot recover them. Export a screenshot first if you want to keep one.
Saving to Photos does not work.
Textbait asks for permission to add pictures to your library the first time you save. If you tapped Don’t Allow, go to iOS Settings → Textbait → Photos and allow adding. You can always use the share sheet instead.
An export looks wrong or failed.
Try exporting again. If it keeps failing, email us your iOS version and the chat style you used.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your chats never leave your device. See the Privacy Policy.
Who is this for?
Textbait is entertainment and parody. Do not use an export to deceive, harass or impersonate anyone, and never present an export as a real conversation.
